Golf trips
A day out on the course offers the perfect blend of leisure, light exercise, and bonding with fellow golfers. This is a great way to get outside, enjoy Apache Junction’s great weather, and get your body moving as you grow older. At Superstition Buttes, our guests have access to our convenient, on-site “Pitch & Putt” golf course; however, we also organize outings for groups of seniors to enjoy the numerous, pristine golf courses in the area such as Apache Creek Golf Club, AZ Golf Resort, and many others.
Casinos
What’s more fun than trying your luck at the casino with a great group of people? Our organized senior events include regular trips to Phoenix's most lively casinos so that our guests can see a completely different side of Arizona. Rest assured, we will make sure you and your group arrive at the casino and are transported back to our mobile home community safely, with a comfortable ride in one of our shuttle buses.
Organized hikes
Many of our senior guests at Superstition Buttes are still incredibly active, and interested in exploring the natural landscape. With direct views of the Superstition Mountains, we guarantee you will want to hit the trails as soon as you arrive at our RV park. We offer many hiking excursions led by experienced guides. Our friendly team is also happy to tailor our hiking trips to older adults by keeping a comfortable walking pace. Explore Lost Dutchman State Park, Superstition Mountains, and lesser known areas throughout Arizona.
Flea market shop and swap
If a big day on the trails does not appeal to you, we offer a variety of more leisurely senior events that are guaranteed to spark your interest. A fan favorite at Superstition Buttes is our weekly trip to the open air flea market in Mesa Market Place. Here you can peruse rows of unique goods and shop until your heart's content. This flea market is open year round, from Friday to Sunday. During market hours, you can always find live music, great food, and products that you can’t buy anywhere else.
Gold prospecting
One of the most unique aspects of life in Arizona is the plethora of well-known gold mining locations throughout the region. Gold prospecting is a fun, unique activity that you can only find in the beautiful state of Arizona. Once you are granted permission through a tour agency, you can head out to one of these privately owned properties and try your hand at digging for gold. We partner with American Gold Prospecting Adventures to provide these events for our residents.
